Sign in to your Athas account, then create a snapshot link hosted on athas.dev. Public sharing is available on the free plan. Viewers do not need an account for public links.
Share content
- Select code, right-click, and choose Share Selection to Web.
- Right-click in an editor and choose Share Buffer to Web to include the current buffer, including unsaved changes.
- Use Share agent to web in the agent header to share its conversation.
These actions are also available in the command palette. Review the content, choose visibility, and click Create link. Athas copies the link to your clipboard. Enable Keep this link up to date for an agent session or buffer to include future responses and edits. Leave it off to create a fixed snapshot. Selections are always fixed snapshots. Live links update while Athas is running and the source is available, usually within a few seconds.
The web view uses Athas editor colors, fonts, line numbers, and conversation layout. It is read-only. Agent snapshots include visible user and assistant text, including responses that used tools, and show your account name and profile photo. Local paths in conversation text are redacted. They do not include system prompts, tool payloads, or image attachments. Code snapshots preserve the selected text exactly.
Visibility
Public is the default. Anyone with the link can view the snapshot.
Specific emails requires Athas Pro. Recipients sign in using Google or GitHub with an allowed, verified email address. If they signed in before this feature was available, they should sign in again to verify their address for sharing.
Organization requires Athas Pro. Choose an organization you belong to. Only its active members can view the link; removing a member also removes their access. The creator can always view their snapshot.
Restricted snapshots stay restricted if the creator's Pro plan expires.
Open Settings → Sharing & cloud in Athas or on the web dashboard to copy or revoke links, change access, and pause or resume live updates. Revoking a link disables it. Snapshots support up to 500,000 characters, with a 2 MB upload limit and 100 new links per account per day.
Private cloud sessions
Enable Sync agent sessions in Settings → Sharing & cloud to upload existing agent conversations and keep future responses in sync. This is separate from cloud settings sync. Your cloud sessions are private to your signed-in account; enabling sync never publishes them. Read them under Private sessions on the web dashboard.
Turning sync off in either app stops future uploads and retains existing cloud copies. Delete a private session from the web library to remove its cloud copy; Athas will not upload that session again automatically. Your local conversation is kept. The library supports up to 2,000 sessions, with the same per-session text limits as sharing. Image attachments and tool payloads stay local.
